ABOUT 300 international delegates from over 40 countries are expected to participate in the Brunei International Defence Exhibition and Conference (BRIDEX) 2009 from August 12-15.
Some 10,000 trade visitors are expected to attend the BRIDEX 2009. A total of 10 local small and medium enterprises will be among the 250 exhibitors promoting locally-made products, ranging from security to IT products, this was announced during a press conference at the new BRIDEX building in Jerudong.
Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretary II Dato Paduka Hj Abdul Majid Mangarshah, Ministry of Defence Deputy Permanent Secretary I Colonel (Rtd) Pengiran Dato Paduka Hj Azmansham Hj Mohamad and Lt Col (Rtd) Amir Hamzah Hj Hanafi, chief executive officer of Royal Brunei Technical Services were present to brief reporters on preparations for the event.
A one-day conference, which will be held a day before the launching and handover ceremony of the building, will see 12 international speakers addressing issues revolving around the theme of ``Emerging and Future Security Threats and Challenges''. (SHS1)
