FROM only selling various types of drinks, Nismah Ludin has now increased her sales by offering various types of food at her stall in Jalan Telisai.

Selling quick-prepared food like Nasi Campur and Nasi Katok has given more options to her customers. She said that the location has given her an advantage of getting more customers at the stall as it is near two highways.

"At first, selling drinks was a trial for my business. Since the response is good, I tried to venture into food as well," she said, noting that her drinks range from Ice Pop, soft drinks and Ais Batu Campur.

She added that there are increasing number of road-users who drop by the stall to grab some food everyday. The location has proven to be a good place to run a business.

She said that one of the reasons for increasing the food varieties were because of after seeing the potential of the place.

"The sales of my drinks in the first place were increasing. Some of my customers used asked me if I am selling any food," she said.

After a while, she started to sell Nasi Katok, but in small volume first. Starting with 20 packets, the number of Nasi Katok sold has now increased to about 100 packets a day, she said. She added that the same goes for Nasi Campur.

"The buyers are not only local, but also some passersby from our neighbouring countries," she said. Adding that normally the customers from neighbouring country would buy up to 10 packets of Nasi Katok at one go.

"I guess the reason why they buy many Nasi Katok is because of its taste and price, just $1 per packet," she said.

Apart from Nasi Katok and Nasi Campur, she also has started to sell burgers made by her daughter.

"It is too early to say if it is doing well. Well, I just do it first and see how it goes in the next few months," she said.

"I believe that it is worth trying if we have the confidence, opportunity and capability," she said.
