Amal Sarawak to hold carnival, forum

AMAL Sarawak will be organising the "Merdeka Karnival and Ihya Ramadhan" from August 8 until September 6 2009 in Miri.

The event, with this year's theme "AMAL for All", is expected to attract the public from Miri, Bintulu, Limbang and Brunei to participate in the programme lineup.

The carnival will kick off with "AMAL Futsal" among Muslim NGOs, mosque and surau committees at the Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKBN), Miri, on August 8 and 9.

The "AMAL Run" will be held at the Kg Sukan PETRONAS on morning of August 15.

Malaysian celebrities Ramli Sarip, Akhwan Affendi and Ustaz Azhan Atan (Akademi Nasyid TV9 winner) will be performing at the Miri Stadium on the night of August 15.

While for the "Ihya Ramadhan" event, the Infaq Fund will be launched together with various social services that include health check-up, religious talks and forums at various places within Miri and Bintulu.

The "Muslim Economic Seminar" and "Nuzul Quran Talk" will be hosted together by the committees of the Naim Lutong and At-Taqwa mosques, Miri.
