Tumpuan Telisai win it all

TUMPUAN Telisai Primary School emerged as champions of the Under-13 Inter-school Cricket tournament which was held from April 16-21 at the Ong Sum Ping Cricket Ground.

Twelve schools participated in the event a knock-out format competition.

Tumpuan Telisai Primary School managed to beat Pengiran Muda Mahkota Primary School by eight runs.

Mohd Firdaus Jaineh and Dorashid Irwan Shah of Tumpuan Telisai Primary School scored a team high of 11 runs each but most of their teammates didn't managed to get any runs.

However, Pengiran Muda Mahkota Primary School batted poorly with a total of 15 runs to their credit. Their top scorer was Mohd Amin with six runs.

Tumpuan Telisai Primary School ended with 27 runs for five while runners-up Pengiran Muda Mahkota finished with 15 runs for eight.

Hj Rusdi Hj Abu Latif the coordinator of the tournament expressed his satisfaction due to the encouraging response from the students who participated. He said that cricket is a newly introduced sport for the primary students and to increase awareness of the sport, it has to begin with the under-13 students.

He hopes that by next year, there will be under-13s and under-15s categories. The Brunei Times
