Prices of Vietnam rice up

Wednesday, August 22, 2007

PRICES of Vietnamese rice are on the continued rise in the world market in spite of the fact that the Asian market witnesses a slight reduction in the opener of the week due to impact of the Thai bath devaluation against US dollar, said VNA in its report.

The Vietnam government said exporters offer to sell rice with 15 per cent of broken grain at US$298.6 per tonne.

Prices of rice with either five or 10 per cent of broken grain both enjoy an increase of US$2.2, fetching US$307.6 and US$302.6 a tonne, respectively. Rice with 25 per cent of broken grain has its price go up by US$2.8 to US$292.6 a tonne.
