Saturday, March 10, 2007
MALAYSIA plans to strengthen business ties with the Bruneian government and IT firms, and will be underlining their intentions in a business mission to Brunei Darussalam.
A delegation is expected from the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), the organisation charged with driving the MSC (formerly known as the Multimedia Super Corridor) project and the national ICT agenda.
The group will be led by Rob Cayzer, MDeC's general manager of Marketing and Branding.
Talks will be held with various agencies from Bruneian ministries, such as the Brunei IT Council and the Brunei Economic Development Board, to compare notes on local and international advancements with ICT projects, as well as for the MDeC to familiarise itself with the latest ICT trends in Brunei.
A seminar has been scheduled for March 12 at the Empire Hotel and Country Club. MSC, which occupies a 15 by 50 kilometre area in the West Malaysian state of Selangor, is Malaysia's test environment for the development of its ICT industry. The MDeC falls under the jurisdiction of the Malaysian government, and acts as an advisory body on ICT legislation and policies as well as development and operations. The Brunei Times
