Brunei Girl Guides leave for Kedah meet

SIX young Girl Guides and their mentors left yesterday afternoon for the International Ranger Gathering for Girl Guides in Kedah.
Members of the group were elected to participate in the overseas guide activity based on their performance as youth leaders.
The party will be led by Head of Delegation Hjh Hajidah and Manager Hjh Maimunah, who accepted the Bruneian flag in a symbolic handover ceremony at the Brunei International Airport prior to their departure for Kuala Lumpur.
Suhaili Hj Abdul Karim, in attendance as Head of Uniformed Groups and Clubs under the Ministry of Education, was there to acknowledge the group as ambassadors to the event for their country, while their families also turned up to bid them a safe journey.
The trip is being funded by the Ministry of Education, and the delegation is expected to return on May 2.
