Seminar on new investment plans

IN KEEPING their customers well-informed on upcoming investment opportunities, HSBC held an exclusive seminar for their valued customers yesterday afternoon at the Mutiara Ballroom of Sheraton Utama Hotel, in the capital.

Always readily available to help their customers choose the best possible investment opportunities, the seminar was aimed at updating HSBC customers on the current investment climate and opportunities so that they would be able to make informed decisions in their investments.

In her welcoming speech, Lyndsay Rajah, Head of Personal Financial Services at HSBC, stated that the event was to demonstrate HSBC's continuing commitment to educating their customers and providing them with insights into global markets.

The seminar, entitled 'Exploring New Investment Opportunities', was conducted by Ashley Neal, Vice President of BlackRock Investment Management (Singapore) Limited.

BlackRock Investment Management recently merged with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers to create one of the most powerful investment management firms, BlackRock Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, a premier provider of global investment management, risk management and advisory services. With their combination of award winning capabilities and unsurpassed depth of experience, HSBC customers had much investment knowledge to gain from the seminar.

During the seminar, Ms Neal addressed two types of funds, MLIIF Global Allocation Fund and MLIIF Global Enhanced Equity Yield Fund. The Global Allocation Fund, a mixed asset fund that provides investors with a comprehensive investment strategy, is a diversified core mutual fund which can help protect investors during market downturns, while also granting them benefit if the markets rise. It invests in US and international stocks, bonds and alternative cash equivalents.
