Minister heads visit to Ulu Temburong National Park

MINISTER of Industry and Primary Resources, Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Dr Awg Hj Ahmad Hj Jumat headed a delegation of senior officials from the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, and the Prime Minister's Office, on a working visit to the Ulu Temburong National Park on April 28, 2007.
During the visit, the minister and senior officials, who are part of the Working Committee that has been assembled to preserve and develop the Ulu Temburong National Park, discussed the future direction, facilities and safety aspects of the park for tourists.
The minister hopes that the visit will allow the working committee to further contribute positive development of the National Park. The committee comprised of numerous government agencies as well as the Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd and the Brunei Association of Travel Agents, was established following the titah of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam earlier this year.
Senior Official's working visit
The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs made a working visit to departments under the ministry in the district last Saturday.
Awg Hj Mahdi Pehin Orang Kaya Di Gadong Seri Diraja Dato Laila Utama Hj Abd Rahman was first briefed on the activities of the Malay Chamber of Trade and Commerce before he went to the Temburong District Office where he toured all the units and sections under it. He also visited were the Immigration and National Registration Department and the Labour Department.
