Royal messages for Norway

HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday conveyed congratulatory messages to His Majesty King Harald V, the King of the Kingdom of Norway as well as to His Excellency Jens Stoltenberg, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norway on the occasion of their country's Constitution Day.
In the message, His Majesty expressed his satisfaction that friendly bilateral relations between the two countries has been strengthened from time to time. His Majesty believed that the relationship would be further strengthened in many years to come at the bilateral and international levels.
His Majesty also wished upon His Majesty King Harald V good health and happiness and for the people of Norway to always enjoy continued progress and prosperity.
In a message to the Prime Minister, His Majesty extended his congratulation to His Excellency and the Government and people of Norway on the occasion of their Constitution Day.
His Majesty also expressed satisfaction on the warm understanding and friendly relations between the two countries. The monarch hopes that the relations would be further strengthened for the mutual benefit of the two countries and peoples.
His Majesty also wished for His Excellency Jens Stoltenberg continued good health and happiness and for the prosperity of the people of Norway.
Meanwhile His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade also sent a similar message to his Norwegian counterpart, His Excellency Jonas Ghar Store. In the message, His Royal Highness expressed pleasure in presenting his respects to His Majesty King Harald V and the royal family. His Royal Highness also extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to His Excellency and the Government and the people of Norway on the occasion of the country's Constitution Day."I greatly value the friendship between our two countries and look forward to future opportunities to further develop these excellent relations," said His Royal Highness, in the message.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries was established in 1984. Brunei imports food, chemicals, manufactured goods, machinery and transport equipment, miscellaneous manufactured articles and miscellaneous transactions from Norway. Exports commodities consist of manufactured goods, machinery and transport equipment, miscellaneous manufactured articles and miscellaneous transactions. From January to September last year, Brunei's total cost of imports from Norway was $4,609,214 and a total of $1,374 on exports.
