$86,890 received from sponsors

A TOTAL of $86,890 was received by the Tutong Executive Working Committee for His Majesty's 61st birthday celebration in the district on Saturday.
The contribution came from 139 sponsors comprised of corporate members, private companies, and various individual.
Amongst them were DST Communications Sdn Bhd, GALFAR Sdn Bhd, Brunei Shell Petroleum Company, Pehin Kapitan China Kornia Diraja Lau Ah Kok, Datu Hulubalang Abd Wahab bin Orang Kaya Setia Negara Hj Md Safar.
The money will be used in the preparations for the Get-Together Ceremony between His Majesty and the residents of Tutong scheduled to be held on July 19, 2007.
It will also be used for other celebrative events which will begin on the same day. Some 20 activities have been planned in conjunction with the monarch's birthday in the district.
In his speech, Tutong District Officer, Hj Jamain Momin, who is also the chairman of the executive committee said: "The donations show the apparent valuable and united support as well as commitment (of the people), where we all have a role in ensuring the activities are fully carried out as well as to create a joyous atmosphere throughout His Majesty's 61st birthday celebration."
