Private sector support appreciated

PRIVATE sector's involvement in Islamic festivities is seen as a positive contribution in terms of religious development and cooperation with the public sector.
The Acting Director of Administration of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Kasim Metali, said this during a ceremony to acknowledge the contribution of sponsors of this year's Maulidur Rasul Celebrations and the final of the National al-Quran Reading Competition.
The event took place at the Teratai Hall in the ministry building, yesterday.
Among those present at the function were Dato Paduka Hj Abdul Rahman Hj Mohiddin, the Permanent Secretary at the ministry as the guest of honour, the Deputy Permanent Secretary, Directors, Deputy Directors and other senior officials..
Kasim Metali, in his capacity as the chairman of the ceremony, expressed appreciation to the sponsors for their contribution, noting that it was valuable to the development of the country's Islamic eminence.
The ceremony was also seen as a way to foster better and cordial relationship between the ministry and sponsors, in addition to encourage private sector and individuals in the sultanate to get involved in religious events, celebrations or observances.
"The involvement of private sector in making major Islamic events a success will also foster public and private cooperation and at the same time provide an opportunity for the relevant parties to donate to charity," the administration acting director emphasised.
A total of 45 certificates were presented to sponsors by the guest of honour.
