NBT clients go treasure hunting

Monday, July 9, 2007

AS MANY as 150 Toyota and Lexus vehicles were racing around the district yesterday searching for clues in a treasure hunt organised by NBT. The event was held as part of the NBTs 40th anniversary celebration.

Participants were flagged off from the International Convention Centre in Berakas by NBT Managing Director, Ninan Chacko. The hunt took them to areas around Jerudong, Muara and Bukit Shahbandar.

The event, the 11th of its kind being organised by NBT, was to show their appreciation for their customers' support.

According to the Managing Director, the primary objective of organising the event was to "create an enjoyable fun-filled Sunday morning for the families and friends of Toyota and Lexus owners who purchased their vehicles from NBT". "In addition, NBT would like to foster goodwill and friendship among the participants of the hunt, as well as to encourage them to become better acquainted with our country, Brunei Darussalam, also known as The Kingdom of Unexpected Treasures," he said in a statement.

Manager of Customer Care, Hjh Asmara Hj Drahman, said that this year's hunt saw slightly less participants due to other events that were also taking place at the same time. "Last year we had 206 participants joining the event," said Hjh Asmara.

At the end of the event, participants regrouped at the starting point for some more games. The Treasure Hunt's first prize, a holiday package to Sydney, Australia, was won by a team who named themselves 'The Mad Gang', led by Captain Mohd Wali Hj Rosli. First runner-up, the Aqua team, got themselves tickets to Dubai while in third place, the 'Beri Laluan' team, won a holiday package to Bangkok.
