Anybody selling cheese out there?

ONE weekend I was in the mood to bake a very light Mango Cheesecake. With the thoughts of just needing a few ingredients, I planned on a trip to a supermarket.
I got all the ingredients except for the cream cheese.
So, off I went to another supermarket and still no cheese. Then I went to several other supermarkets ... and still no cheese.
And so I thought maybe by going to one of the infamous bakeries in town, I will surely get my most required and most important ingredient but no.
What happened to all the cheese?!
One of the salesperson there informed me that they absolutely have no more cream cheese left and the main company importing the product will not be sending it anymore.
What's happening here? What happened to all the cows?
Will this be the start of a cheesecake famine?
