MEVLANA (Jalal ud-Din Muhammed Rumi) Museum in central province of Konya, Turkey can be accessed through the internet with the support of Turkish Ministry of Culture & Tourism.
Imdat Demir, project coordinator of the website www.360tr.com said Mevlana Museum can be visited through a 3-D vision on the web-site, Turkey's Anadolu News agency (Anadolu) said in its report on Friday.
100 million people are expected to visit the virtual museum, Demir stated.
People can visit Mevlana Museum on the webpage http://www.360tr.com/mevlana.
At the very heart of Konya, in more ways than one, is the Mevlana Museum, the former tekke (dervish hall) that now holds the tomb of Mevlana Jelaleddin Rumi, the found of the Mevlevi.
The museum is a place of visitation for Muslims because Rumi is a saint. Muslim and non-Muslim pilgrims come from throughout the world to visit his tomb.
