MUSLIM cemeteries everywhere have become the focus of attention throughout Ramadhan as family members visited the gravesites to pay respects and pray for blessings for their relatives and departed loved ones.

Visiting the gravesites around this time of the year is considered by some as a family tradition or ritual that is rarely missed as relatives will usually get together and go as a group.

The visits normally begin with a general cleaning of the grave and its surrounding area by the family members before a recital of the SurahYaasin and tahlil, prayers to invoke blessings from Allah (SWT) for the deceased.

Rewards for good deeds are multiplied manifold during this holy month of Ramadhan.

Muslims are also encouraged to glorify the month of Ramadhan with religious acts and charitable deeds and to intensify their efforts especially during the last 10 nights of Ramadhan as one of these nights is the time of the Lailatul Qadr .On this night, Muslims try and make even more ibadah (worship) than the other nights .

This in the night which is better than a thousand months, and so is very special and unique.

Prayers according to Islam will go a long way during these days.

Hence any other offerings of such nature especially in honour of late relatives and passed loved ones will be greatly received by Allah the Almighty.
