ALL PREPARATIONS for the Korban for His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the royal family, are set and ready to go.
For the past two days, since Tuesday, the parking space at Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kiarong has been witnessing a huge gathering of people from all walks of life working together to ensure that the event would go on smoothly and as planned today.
From the slaughtering or Korban process to the distribution of korban kurnia, every detail of the programme has been discussed and rehearsed thoroughly to achieve perfection and prevent any flaw.
Students from the Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, who would be performing a Tausyeh at the event were also present, rehearsing their presentation.
Present at the second day of rehearsal, yesterday was Pehin Jawatan Luar Pekerma Raja Dato Seri Utama Dr Hj Mohd Zain Hj Serudin, the Minister of Religious Affairs, who was also the chairman of the executive committee of National Islamic Holy Days for 1428H.
The huge crowds at the parking space attracted the attention of a tour guide from the Freme Travel Services, who was showing two tourists from Japan around the mosque.
Tomoe Iguchi decided to bring her entourage to have a closer look. When approached by The Brunei Times, the tour guide already had the basic idea of what was going on, as she took the initiative to ask people around.
Communicating through her, Toshie Kawasaki expressed her interest in the occasion, as she had never seen such an act being carried out in the country of her origin.
Meanwhile, Hideyuki Nakajo said that although meat was part of their diet, he had never seen the slaughtering process. The entire process was an experience to remember as they would have never encountered such an event normally.
