ENCHANTING and impressive performances by talented Smarter kids had the audiences entertained at the Institute of Medicine Charity Evening 2008, held last night.
With bustling performances in the form of songs, dances and even a poetry recital, the Smarter (Society for the Management of Autism Related Issues in Training, Education and Resources) children provided a neverending whirl of energetic talents, one after the other, overshadowing the other entertainers.
After weeks of much preparations done on the part of students of the Institute of Medicine, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, their hard work has paid off by successfully holding the concert albeit a few technical glitches which were perhaps the result of a prematurely organised event.
But, nonetheless, what cannot be denied were the stars of the entire evening — the Smarter kids rocking the stage, greeted by raptuous roars of support from the audience throughout the three-hour concert, which was graced by HRH Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah.
According to a representative of the Institute of Medicine, 15 Smarter children participated in the concert and had put a lot of hard work into the practice sessions held prior to the charity concert.
All proceeds of the ticket sales will go to Smarter Brunei.
