DUE to the recent flash floods in Temburong, the Public Works Department wishes to assure the public that the quality of water has not been compromised.

Both water treatment plants situated in Sumbiling and Batang Duri in Temburong District were not affected and water storage tanks and water pipelines are also reported to be found in good condition.

To further assure the public, the Public Works Department said that the Department of Water Services, will also increase its monitoring and surveillance of the quality of water through site sampling and laboratory testing.

However, extra precautions when consuming water is still advised.

The public is urged to drink bottled or boiled water only, as advised by the Ministry of Health.
