THE ISLAMIC Da'wah Centre will be organising a two-day seminar on Zikir Menjana Negara Sejahtera starting tomorrow to mark the Prophet Muhammad's (Peace be upon him) birthday celebrations.

The seminar will focus on zikir, which is said to have many benefits. At the same time, it is hoped that the seminar could realise the hopes of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, to make the sultanate as a zikir nation.

The main objective of the seminar at Universiti Brunei Darussalam is to produce an Islamic society that equips themselves with zikir and make it as part of their daily practice.

Around 500 participants are expected to attend the seminar, ranging from undergraduates from universities to students in technical and vocational schools, as well as pre-university students including students in Arabic secondary schools.

The Minister of Religious Affairs, Pehin Jawatan Luar Pekerma Raja Dato Seri Utama Dr Ustaz Hj Mohd Zain Hj Serudin, is expected to launch the seminar and he is also scheduled to present a keynote address entitled Zikir Menjana Masyarakat Bertaqwa on the first day.

A total of six working papers will be presented throughout the seminar, accompanied by a question and answer session after each presentation.

Apart from the local speakers, two speakers have been invited from renowned institutions both in Singapore and Malaysia.

By the end of the presentation, a resolution from the seminar will be compiled and then presented to the deputy permanent secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Dato Paduka Hj Rahman Hj Mohiddin, who will be attending as the guest of honour at the closing ceremony.
