RBPF's traffic arrangements for annual floats procession

THE Royal Brunei Police Force's Department of Investigation and Traffic Control will be closing off several main routes leading to Taman Hj Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien in the capital tomorrow for the annual floats procession.

Tomorrow night's events also include the Borneo tug-of-war finals and a fireworks show to commemorate His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 62nd birthday.

Shuttle services will be provided for the public on the day, where the Jame Asr' Hassanil Bolkiah carpark, SOAS College carpark, Jubilee Park carpark and the Batu Satu Seri Complex empty lot in Jalan Tutong will serve as pick-up points.

The buses will be dropping off passengers at Jalan Kumbang Pasang, Jalan Sumbiling and Jalan Hj Basir. The buses coming from Jalan Kota Batu and Subok will be dropping off its passengers at Jalan Residency and areas near Jalan Kumbang Pasang and Jalan Padang.

Cars can also be parked at the roadside at Jalan Istana Darussalam Sumbiling, Jalan Sumbiling, Jalan Residency and Jalan Kg Kianggeh.

When all the roads are closed, the police have advised the public to make use of the alternative routes: the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah highway, Jalan Telanai, Jalan Subok and Jalan Kota Batu.

Invited guests, participants and the public are encouraged to carpool on the day to reduce traffic congestion. (HHM1)
