RBPF hosts royal banquet for HM

HIS MAJESTY Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Inspector General of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) yesterday consented to attend a royal banquet hosted by RBPF.
The grand reception commemorating His Majesty's 62nd birthday celebrations was held at the Dewan Assarraa in the capital.
Upon arrival, His Majesty and the royal entourage were greeted by a trumpet fanfare performance by RBPF band members and led into the hall by Pehin Datu Kerma Setia Dato Paduka Seri Zainuddin Jalani, the Commissioner of Police for the customary greeting and receiving of birthday wishes from RBPF officers and their spouses.
The royal entourage accompanying His Majesty at last night's reception comprised of Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pg Anak Hajah Saleha, HRH Pg Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar, HRH Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Deputy Inspector General of RBPF, HRH Paduka Seri Pg Anak Isteri Pg Anak Sarah, HRH Pg Anak Khairul Khalil, HRH Princess Hjh Majeedah Nuurul Bulqiah and HRH Prince 'Abdul Malik.
Proceeding to the stage, His Majesty then consented to cut the birthday cake as a choir made up of RBPF officers performed the birthday song Selamat Hari Keputeraan in honour of His Majesty's 62nd birthday.
A pesambah was then presented to His Majesty by the Police Commissioner on behalf of the RBPF on the occasion of His Majesty's 62nd birthday celebrations.
The RBPF pesambah this year was a 51-year-old brass B-Flat Trumpet which was first used by the RBPF in 1957 under the command of Supt R E House (UK) and has since then been preserved as one of RBPF's historical artefacts.
Dinner accompanied by stage performances and light entertainment followed shortly after His Majesty consented to receive another round of greetings by officers and their spouses expressing their well wishes on the monarch's birthday celebrations.
The dinner concluded with a signing of the 62nd birthday anniversary Signature Slip prepared by RBPF to commemorate His Majesty's presence in this year's annual celebrations.
Also in attendance was the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office Dato Seri Paduka Hj Eusoff Agaki Hj Ismail and his spouse along with Senior Officers, Department Directors and other invited guests.The Brunei Times
