COOPERATION and unity is one of the positive outcomes of the recent float procession held in conjunction with His Majesty's 62nd birthday celebration.
This was noted by the Deputy Director of Land Transport Department Md Riza Dato Paduka Hj Md Yunus during an appreciation dinner for those involved in the running of the event at the LR Asma Hotel in Jerudong, last night.
In his speech the deputy director expressed his hope that the support and commitment shown by sponsors and committee members alike would continue as an event such as this was crucial in making the celebrations more festive every year.
The teams that took part in this year's procession have shown a lot of hard work and creativity in making their floats as attractive and interesting as possible with themes that encompass various aspects of life such as education, development, progress and religion, said Mohd Riza.
"This shows how much they are in tune and in sync with the country's development and how dedicated they are to the celebrations and need for attracting visitors to the country by providing as much entertainment during the festivities as possible," he added.
Among the guests present was the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Pg Abd Haris Pg Hj Shahbudin.
The permanent secretary also presented certificate of appreciation to committee members, sponsors and judges of the float procession. Prizes and certificates were also presented to winners of the event. (SRH1) The Brunei Times
