Wednesday, August 27, 2008

THE Kg Sinaut mosque yesterday held a programme on exploring the contents of the Quran for women, as part of national efforts to emphasise the learning of the Quran. More than 70 Muslimah from various mosques in Tutong participated in the programme, which aimed to emphasise the responsibilities and obligations of a pious Muslimah as well as instill the sense of leadership to fight for Islam through al-Quran verses.

The two-day programme was also hoped to allow the participants to enlighten themselves with the reading and appreciating of the contents of the holy book.

Hjh Samsiah Hj Ahmad, the programme chairperson said that it was the first to be held in pursuit of in-depth learning of the Quran. "We hope to extend this programme in the future to other mosques and if possible to other districts' mosques," she said, adding her hope that the participants had fully participated in and gained from the programme.
