His Majesty delivers condolences

HIS Majesty Sultan Hj Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday afternoon visited the residence of the late Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Dipa Negara Laila Diraja Pengiran Hj Abdul Momin Pengiran Hj Ismail in Kampung Telanai to deliver his deepest condolences to the family.
YAM PDNLD Pengiran Hj Abdul Momin passed away earlier yesterday at the age of 80, survived by his wife, a son and three daughters.
Also present at the residence to offer their condolences to family members and friends were cabinet ministers, deputy ministers and other senior government officials.
The State Mufti, Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr Ustaz Hj Awang Abdul Aziz Juned, led the Asr prayers as well as the solat janazah prior to the funeral.
YAM PDNLD Pengiran Hj Abdul Momin was buried in the Telanai Muslim Cemetery not far from the residence.
Leading the hearse was a vehicle from Adat Istiadat carrying flags in various colours symbolising the late YAM PDNLD Pengiran Hj Abdul Momin's position as Cheteria at one time.
While in the service of His Majesty's government, the late YAM PDNLD Pengiran Hj Abdul Momin held positions such as Belait District Officer, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to various countries, Permanent Secretary of Brunei to the UN, State Secretary as well as Mentri Besar.
He was also a member of the State Legislative Council since September 2004. He was awarded the Cheteria post in June 1970 and received medals such as DK, DSNB and DPMP. (NAS1) The Brunei Times
