Schools celebrate Prophet's birthday

A RELIGIOUS function to commemorate the birthday anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) was held yesterday afternoon for teachers and staff of primary schools throughout the district.

Hj Mail Hj Awg Besar from the Islamic Dakwah Centre was there to present a talk on the implementation of duties and responsibilities from the Islamic perspective.

He among other things said that Islam sees working not only for the benefits or material gains for one's self but also to get the blessings from Allah the Almighty. He stressed that, working is an obligation to Allah and thus man should use all means such as knowledge, property and skills for the benefit of the Ummah. The religious officer also mentioned that working which is regarded by Islam as ibadah is also a motivation for the reward in life after death.

The talk was organised by the Headmasters and Deputy Headmasters of Primary Schools and Religious Section of Belait district. More than 100 teachers and staff of schools in the district attended the talk which took place at the multipurpose hall of Sungai Liang Primary School in the Belait District.
