THE Asian Tour's top golfers will battle for a prize fund worth US$300,000 at Malaysia's inaugural Iskandar Johor Open in late August.
The field due to assemble from Aug 23-26 will include seven winners from this season's tour, including home favourite Airil Rizman, who took the Pakistan Open in January.
Airil will be aiming for another strong showing as he bids to finish high up the tour's Order of Merit.
"I hope to finish in the Top 20, which means I'll have to earn something like US$150,000 this season. That's the goal," he said.
The tour's top ranked golfer, China's Liang Wen-chong, will also play at the Royal Johor Country Club as the second half of the season begins in earnest.
Airil and Liang will be joined by five other winners South Korea's Lee Sung, Chinese Taipei veteran Lu Wen-teh, Gaurav Ghei of India, American Jason Knutzon and big-hitting Thai Chapchai Nirat. AFP
