Nestle to sponsor Brunei Athletics Open

NESTLE Products Sdn Bhd officially handed over an agreement to sponsor the 2007 Brunei National Athletics Open at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas, yesterday afternoon.
The President of the Brunei Amateur Athletics Association (BAAA), Hj Yakub Mohammad received the sponsorship on the behalf of the BAAA, while Nestle Products Sdn Bhd was represented by Zahidi Abdul Rahman, the Area Business Manager of Nestle Products Sdn Bhd.
The sponsorship of the 2007 Brunei National Athletics Open was symbolic of Nestle's ongoing support for the development of sports within the country, where in line with this, the company will also be sponsoring prizes for athletes who manage to break national records.
Nestle will also be contributing drinks, tag numbers and banners for the opening and closing ceremonies.
The tournament is in its very first edition this year and will be held on September 1 and 2 at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
The tournament will also serve as a platform to evaluate athletes in order to determine who will get on board the Brunei team to participate in the 2007 Southeast Asian Games in Thailand this December.
Athletes will have to break the third place records from the 2006 Sea Games in Philippines.
