HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam made a surprise visit to the Brunei International Airport's Air Traffic Control tower today (26th July 2012) to find out more about the 20th July Bell 212 helicopter accident in Ulu Belait.
The monarch arrived at the air traffic control tower around 11am. His Majesty spoke with the officers on duty as well as those on duty at the time of the incident involving the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) aircraft.
At the control tower, the monarch was greeted by Minister of Communications YB Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Abdullah Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar, Permanent Secretary (Media and Cabinet) at the Prime Minister's Office Pg Hj Abd Haris Pg Hj Shabudin as well as officers and staff under the Air Traffic Control Section.
His Majesty later went to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) hospital to visit the two survivors.
The monarch was welcomed at the hospital by Minister of Health YB Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Adanan Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Hj Mohd Yusof.
