THIS year's 6th Borneo International Yachting Challenge took place from October 9th to 15th. Yachts from all over the World converged on the beautiful island of Borneo to compete in the week long International sailing event.

Countries competing in this year's event included UK, America, Canada, Switzerland, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Philippines and of course Brunei. This year's yachting regatta was made up of three different legs. First leg was an overnight passage race from Miri to Labuan. The 2nd leg was another overnight passage race from Labuan to Kota Kinabalu and the 3rd leg consisted of two harbor races around the islands in KK.

This year's international yacht challenge was particularly special for Brunei with two Bruneian yachts competing in this years 6th Borneo International Yachting Challenge. Brunei Yacht 'Jumpa Lagi' skippered by Jamie and Felicity Rohan and Dream Charter's SV Petima skippered by Peter Moeller and Aideen Henry. It was a very successful event for Brunei with Dream Charter's yacht Petima taking home four prizes for the Sultanate. Dream Charter won first place in Cruising Class 'C' from Miri to Labuan. Dream Charter also won first place in Cruising Class 'C' from Labuan to Kota Kinabalu thanks to the great crewing efforts from Brunei Adventure and Recreation Association and Bohari Abdullah. To end a very successful regatta during the two harbour races around the Islands of Kota Kinabalu Dream Charter took home 2nd and 3rd place.
