10th French Film Festival

Sunday, November 8, 2009

THE 10th French Film Festival gets under way on tomorrow. Organised by Alliance Francaise (AF) Brunei in collaboration with the French Foreign Ministry, the festival will be officially launched at The Mall, Gadong, where a booth will be set up on the ground floor near the main entrance.

At the booth, a week-long cinema quiz on French films will be held and a giant "Wheel of Fortune" will give participants a chance to win prizes including free French private tutoring, DVDs, movie tickets and gift vouchers.

On November 11 and 12, free short movies will be screened at the Lecture Theatre at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), as well as a selection of works by talented film-makers from the best film-making schools in France and several works from the festival's guest director, Frederic Vin.

From November 17 to 22, AF Brunei in collaboration with the MVision Cinemas will be screening five French films, with English subtitles, at The Empire Cinema at $2 per ticket to present an overview of modern French cinema.

Programme booklets are available at AF Brunei, Empire Cinema, Baiduri Bank, Total Office and in various shops and venues in town which kindly support the 10th French Film Festival.
