IN the effort to provide students with more study options upon completing their secondary education, Laksamana College of Business has in collaboration with Sekolah Menengah Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja (SMPDSM) recently organised a briefing for their students whom are currently waiting for their "O" Level results.
A group of 15 students and their teacher, Rose Gibbons, attended the briefing which was held at the LCB premises.
This visit to the college was part of their Leadership Programme called "Program Bina Insan" (PBI).
The SMPDSM team which was accompanied by seven other teachers: Shahruni Hj Bungsu, Saiful Mohamad, Hj Bahmin Haji Alli, Haslina Hj Abd Ghafar, Aidytul Adha Hj Abd Latip and Dk Ashnani Pg Hj Besar from Sultan Omar 'Ali Saiffuddien College were received by LCB's Administration Manager Bogusia Mischke and LCB's Head of IT, Prakash Mohan.
The event commenced with a welcoming speech by Mischke who then proceeded with the introduction to the LCB Business Courses.
During the introduction presentation, Mischke briefed students on the various business courses offered in LCB and the entry requirement for each course.
The students were also briefed on the advantages of LCB's Academic and Professional Degree Pathway.
SMPDSM students were also briefed on other Business courses such as LCCI International Qualification which included a video as well as slideshow presentation.
It was then followed by an introduction to the LCB's BTEC and Computing Courses. Facilitating this session was Prakash. He presented students with various slideshows consisting introduction to LCB's new course, BTEC.
Students were shown the progression structure from BTEC HNC to BTEC HND as well as the entry requirement for BTEC.
In addition to that, students were also briefed on LCB's other computing courses for instance the IC3, CompTIA A+ and CompTIA N+ Certification.
After the presentation, the students were taken on a tour of the college premises to observe the facilities available.
