FOLLOWING the start of its February 2011 intake, Laksamana College of Business (LCB) organised an Orientation Day to welcome its new students into the LCB family.
The event, that was held on February 22 at the college premises was conducted in two sessions. The first session at 10am was conducted for the full-time students while the second session at 6pm was conducted for the part-time students.
The sessions commenced with the welcoming speech by Laksamana College of Business Chief Operating Officer S Sivarajah who welcomed the new students to a new and exciting semester as well as urged them to be prepared to meet the expectations of the challenging journey ahead.
Sivarajah also gave a presentation on the rules and regulations of the college.
In his presentation, students were briefed on the importance attending the lectures as well as the student's responsibilities before and during examinations.
The newcomers were also briefed on the usage of library facilities and urged them to utilise the facilities available in the college.
Following his speech, the newcomers were also presented with a short presentation by LCB Head of IT Prakash Mohan. In his presentation, Prakash briefed the students on the computer lab usage and the rules and regulations involved as well as the responsibilities of the Computer Lab users.
During the orientation presentation, students were also briefed on all the student activities that have been planned for the year 2011 academic session, by student committee advisor, Azman Mashor. Students were given the opportunity to voice any questions or doubts that they may have during the question and answer session at the end of the presentation.
