A NEW portable outdoor cooker fired up by a clean sustainable fuel made from sugar cane is tipped to be a hit with visitors to this year's BRIDEX (Brunei International Defence Exhibition) Show in July.
UK-based survival equipment specialists, BCB International Ltd, have developed a portable field cooker called the 'Crusader' which uses environmentally-friendly ethanol gel made from sugar cane and can boil 500ml of water in less than eight minutes.
Ben Simmons, BCB International's Far East Sales Manager said, "the Crusader Cooker is a must have item for soldiers because it is lightweight, easy to use, and uses clean sustainable fuel. Weighing in at 450 grams, the compact Crusader is a lightweight outdoor all in one cooking system that can be easily stowed away in a daysack. The Crusader Cooker reduces the risk of military personnel giving their position away to the enemy because the gel sachets burn with a small pale blue light and give off minimal smoke and smell."
The Crusader Cooking system can be snapped up for less than $101 and contains a plastic mug, water bottle, cup, cup lid, cooker, a webbing pouch, 12 Ethanol Fuel Gel Sachets and a flint and striker.
BCB will be exhibiting its range of products at stand E-53 in the BRIDEX International Conference Centre in Jerudong. The Brunei Times
