BIG (Borneo Insider's Guide) Magazine, Borneo's premier lifestyle and travel magazine, marks its fifth anniversary of circulation in the Sultanate with a celebration at Radisson Hotel Brunei Darussalam in Bandar Seri Begawan last Friday.
Published by CHMP Media, biG Magazine is a quarterly magazine that features the best that Borneo has to offer.
Featuring a variety of articles on destinations, activities, shopping and dining, the magazine is the definitive guide for anyone looking to explore Brunei, Sabah and Sarawak be it tourists or locals.
In his speech, editor Wan Zainal Shazali praised the natural treasures of Borneo and emphasized the need to promote Borneo as an authentic destination.
He said: "A breath of fresh air from the spectrum of concrete jungles that are popping up around the rest of Asia."
The event also celebrated the launch of its new website www.borneoinsidersguide.com. "As biG Magazine is only distributed in Borneo, we felt it was time to expand our reach so that those living outside Borneo can also find out more about this wonderful island we call home," said senior editor Estella Ilhan Aji. "Magazines can be limited in the scope of information it holds; whereas with the website, we can fully realise our vision to be the one-stop shop for all information relating to Borneo," she added.
A lucky draw was also held during the night, offering great prizes sponsored by Radisson Hotel, The Empire Hotel & Country Club, Grand Hyatt Singapore, Shangri-la Hotel Penang, Hard Rock Hotel Penang, Pullman Kuching, Beringgis Beach Resort & Spa Sabah, Royal Skies and Savy's Brasserie.
