AROUND 400 students and teachers of the Business School participated in a mass Zumba session on Thursday as part of the school's end of semester school activity. Zumba is a Latin-based dance aerobic workout.

The event was organised by the Business School's Secretarial section and was led by certified Zumba instructors from Susan's Fitness Studio.

According to the school, the objective of the event was to inculcate in the participants a healthy lifestyle and the culture of clean living. "Health and fitness is the current trend in Brunei and is the 'in-thing' within the school community," said Hjh Emily Noorsuryati Metusin, speaking on behalf of the organising committee.

Also joining in the morning exercise was the school's deputy principal, Pg Hjh Nor Ashikkin Pg Dr Hj Amir Md Yusof.

When asked about the response to the event, Hjh Emily stated that the students had fun. "They really enjoyed it because it is interesting and different. Some actually requested for more activities similar to this, so we now plan to propose for it to be included in their extra-curricular activities," she added. The Brunei Times
