Another suspect detained in robbery case

THE Royal Brunei Police Force yesterday apprehended another suspect connected to two robbery cases that were reported last week.

The first robbery case, was committed on January 20 in Kg Batang Mitus while the second was committed 24 hours later (January 21) in Kg Bebatik/Kilanas. Till now, the police have apprehended 10 men who are believed to be involved in both cases.

According to the police, both robberies have been committed by the nine men who were previously arrested.

Giving the latest information on the issue, the police said that another man who is also suspect in the offences was caught late yesterday afternoon in Sungai Teraban in Kuala Belait. Information released by the police said that the 32-year-old man, a foreign national, was caught in the bushes, where he was hiding, in Sungai Teraban at around 2.30pm. According to the police, the nine previously arrested men were produced before court and have been remanded for two weeks pending further investigations into the matter.

They were arrested within a mere 44 hours of committing the crime.The man who was arrested yesterday was also produced before court and remanded for two weeks pending investigations. All 10 men have been charged with Section 395 of the criminal sentence under the code of law. The police were not able to disclose more information in the matter due to ongoing investigations.
