THE formation of the Asean-China Young Entrepreneurs Association awaits the official go-ahead which has been planned to take place in Nanning, China later this year.
This motion was decided at the conclusion of the Asean-China Young Entrepreneurs Workshop.
The workshop hosted by the Young Entrepreneurs Association Brunei (YEAB) discussed in detail the structure of the proposed Asean-China Young Entrepreneurs Association and steps that could be taken to ensure the sustainabililty of the association.
The next workshop in Nanning will provide the participants the opportunity for further deliberations on the proposal and decisions to be made.
The Asean-China Young Entrepreneurs Association is planned to foster increased interaction between its members.
The proposed association hopes to see the introduction of the Asean-China Young Entrepreneurs Forum, encourage more young entrepreneurs to participate in Asean-China expos as well as promote exchange visits and workshops to member countries.
It was also hoped that these gatherings would provide a platform for discussions concerning the development of young entrepreneurship in Asean member countries and China.
YEAB also held a networking breakfast yesterday morning at the Pantai Restaurant of the Empire Hotel and Country Club.
The breakfast gave the YEAB members, participants from the workshop and the Asia Inc Forum as well as other invited guests the chance to interact with one another on a more personal level.
The president of the YEAB, Hjh Mazrina Hj Mohd Yussof delivered a few remarks during the networking breakfast.
She said that the information received by the participants during these workshops would help to "nurture" entrepreneurship in their respective countries, adding that the recently concluded workshop was a "positive step" in realising the goal of bringing together the young entrepreneurs from Asean and China.
Hjh Mazrina also stated that due to the success of the workshop, there would be "closer cooperation" between Brunei and the other participating countries.
