Chinese delegates visit CSPS

THE Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS) yesterday hosted a visit by a delegation from Shanghai Institute Of International Studies of the People's Republic Of China.

The Executive Director of CSPS, Dr Hj Azaharaini Hj Mohd Jamil in his briefing touched on a number of issues such as Brunei's economic diversification plan, food security and long-term planning initiatives.

Dr Hj Azaharaini also shared with the visitors information on the role and functions of CSPS which was to address inadequacies in comprehensive policy research and also provide experties in certain issues and policies related to Brunei in a professional and independant manner.

He also elaborated on the various researches conducted by the centre to examine and analyse various policies and issues of strategic interest as well as to disseminate greater awareness of policy issues through various means such as publication, dialogues, conferences, lectures, closed-door discussions and briefings. This was followed with a Question and Answer session.

The Chinese delegates made up of directors and professors from various departments of the institute arrived in the sultanate on Thursday. (SHR1)
