INSTITUTIONAL Research has become a significant method in elevating the capacities of organisations and educational institutions at re-enhancing and empowering participants with relevant knowledge and skills, said His Excellency Phithak Phrombubpha, Ambassador of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam.
"In this information era, the use of research based information is vital in continuously improving the educational practices and creating forward looking policies," said Phrombubpha.
The closing ceremony of Regular Training Programme: Institutional Research in Vocational and Technical Education Training, held at the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation (Seameo) Voctech building, yesterday.
Dr Paryono, Deputy Director for Professional Seameo Voctech Regional Centre delivered his speech on behalf of the acting director, Mohd Saiful Hj Omar, who was at a conference in Bonn, Germany.
The Deputy Director hopes that participants will practice a multiplier effect to further share information and awareness to colleagues especially on the vital points of the course.
He reminded participants to continue professional friendship and camaraderie through online communication, thus strengthening the Association of South East Asia Nation (Asean) spirit among participants.
Nineteen participants from the 10 Seameo member countries, including teachers, lecturers/professors, administrators, school principals, and policymakers participated in the training.
The two-week programme on Institutional Research VTET was aimed at establishing a strong foundation for participants on how to conduct research in the institution.
Various activities have been designed to share best practices and educational systems, lectures and discussions on various topic of Institutional Research, especially in using quantitative approach, hands-on activities education visits, half-day forum, action plan writing and presentations. Institutional Research covers the possible ways of generating, managing and using institutional data or statistics and surveys for institutional improvement.The Brunei Times
