Firms tie up on business explorations

MALAYSIA'S PSDC International (M) Sdn Bhd and Brunei's PSDC Global (B) Sdn Bhd signed yesterday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on a cooperation to explore business development opportunities locally and abroad to provide sustainable development in the country.

PSDC International (M) Sdn Bhd is a subsidiary of Professional Services Development Corporation Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian government-owned company incorporated under the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Works of Malaysia.

Dato Jamal Husain, the CEO of PSDC Global, said in his opening speech that Brunei Darussalam is currently embarking on a new era where business potential are extensive and if explored comprehensively, will enable it to be an important factor in social economic and political influence within the ASEAN region even globally.

"This is the main agenda for the collaboration which also aims to realise the full business development potential of the Sultanate" he said.

Dato Jamal further said that with vast natural resources, strategic location for trade routes, stable politics and harmonious residents, Brunei is a prime location for investors seeking a safe haven and thus enabling PSDC International to be fully assured of their partnership with PSDC Global.

"We are confident both companies can provide sustainable and significant contribution to the 'Wawasan Pembesaran Bandar Seri Begawan' or plans on diversification of Bandar Seri Begawan via our technical knowledge, vast experience and investors," he said in his closing statement.

Ismail Hj Awab, the president of PSDC International (M), said that PSDC is affiliated with all professional bodies in Malaysia ergo, capable to leverage on a pool of experienced and skillful professionals which can attribute as a catalyst in the country's development plan.

"PSDC specialises in multi-faceted industries. With 20 years experience and expertise in master planning, infrastructure, buildings, civil and structural, mechanical and electrical disciplines," he said, adding that they aim to propel the development of the Sultanate into a competitive and commercial hub while conserving the country's unique cultural heritage.

PSDC has participated in several projects in Malaysia such as Planning of Putrajaya, KLCC Towers, Universities Development such as the Lim Kok Wing University and international projects such as the Abu Dhabi Master Plans and a number of key projects in Indonesia.
