LCB plans series of roadshows to showcase its courses

Saturday, January 17, 2009

THE LAKSAMANA College of Business (LCB) is planning to hold a series of roadshows which will showcase the courses offered by the business college at The Mall, Gadong later this month and early February.

Dubbed as an "educational roadshow", the LCB will exhibit its courses to the public on January 24-25, 30-31 and February 6-8, 2009.

The roadshow hopes to attract the interest of students who have just completed their "O" or "A"-levels and are now seeking to enroll in a higher learning institution.

The college has opened registration for its February 2009 intake and some courses have entry requirements which entail a minimum of two credits in two "O"-level English medium subjects or one credit in Malay and one credit in any English medium subject.

A subsidiary of Kensington College of Business (KCB) in London, the LCB provides a range of courses from Foundation right up to the degree level, said a statement issued by the college.

Among the courses offered by the college is the Cambridge International Diploma in Business, which has been quite popular with the college's students.

Accredited by the Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council, the qualification provides a "framework for developing the skills and knowledge needed for employment in the increasingly dynamic business environment," the statement said.

Students may find this course advantageous as it can be used as a bridge to pursue a degree in top-ranked higher learning institutions such as the United Kingdom's Northumbria University and University of Wales, while saving on cost and time, as the students study locally first before continuing their studies abroad.

The course commences in February with entry requirements of two "O" Levels with two credits in English medium subjects or one credit in Malay and one credit in any English medium subjects.

Further enquiries and information regarding LCB or the roadshow can be obtained by contacting the college directly at 2238816 or 2238818.
