Induction course for new officers

A TOTAL of 28 new government officers attended an induction course yesterday to help them to familiarise themselves with the functions, roles and responsibilities of various departments and ministries.

The induction course, held at the Ministry of Education, was aimed at giving new civil servants an in-depth knowledge of the various functions of the government ministries and departments and to help in the understanding of the various roles and functions of other government departments.

A briefing on the roles and responsibilities of the Ministry of Education was delivered by the Director-General of Education, Hjh Mastoli PSI Pg Hj Ismail, who explained the department's strategic plan to the participants who were in-service with the government for two years.

She also congratulated the new government servants who were in-service with other government organisations such as the Anti-Narcotics Bureau, Public Service Department and Royal Brunei Police Force.

Acting Director of the Department of Schools, Hj Ibrahim Hj Abdul Rahman also delivered a presentation on the National Education System for the 21st Century (SPN21),where he explained the aims of the SPN21 in fulfilling the needs of the National Vision 2035 in providing quality education for students, as well as how it was assessed, challenges faced and strategic themes.

Officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade also held an induction course for civil servants at the International Convention Centre (ICC), where a visual presentation and briefing was delivered by Deputy Director of Administration II, Hj Osman Hj Mohd Yusof.

The induction course will be held for one month, ending on July 13. The new officers are also expected to attend an induction course by the Ministry of Communications today. (KAY1)
