Friday, July 3, 2009

THE Indonesian Embassy would like to inform all Indonesian citizens in Brunei that voting for the presidential election will take place at the embassy on July 8.

Following the parliamentary election on April 9, the presidential election will take place with three candidates running for president.

The candidates include Megawati Soekarnoputri and Prabowo Subianto, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Dr Boediono and Muhammad Jusuf Kalla and Wiranto, according to a statement from the embassy yesterday.

Indonesian citizens eligible to vote are those whose names have been registered in the election voters' list in Brunei. Names of those who cast their votes in the parliamentary election have been automatically included in the voters' list.

Voters will be notified by letter and the notification should be surrendered to the ballot posts.

If registered voters did not receive the notification, they may verify it with the Election Committee at the Indonesian Embassy by July 7. (GDN1)
