THE Ministry of Communications organised mass Sunat Hajat prayers and recital of the Ratib Al-Attas at its premises yesterday to seek protection from Allah (SWT) against the H1N1 pandemic.
Present was Minister of Communications Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Hj Abu Bakar Hj Apong, along with Permanent Secretary Hj Alaihuddin Pehin Orang Kaya DiGadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Utama Hj Mohammad Taha.
The ceremony began with Sunat Hajat prayers and proceeded with a prayer to ask for protection against any disasters and diseases. This was followed with a recital of Ratib Al-Attas led by the ministry's religious officer.
A ministry official said that the prayers was part of a precautionary measure as a way of protecting members of its staff, their families and the public from the virus as well as any other unfortunate occurrences.
The ceremony was also part of a nationwide initiative which has been and will be organised by various other government agencies in incorporating prayers to safeguard their organisation and the country as a whole. (AFH1) The Brunei Times
