HER Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar was among the visitors to BRIDEX 2009 yesterday as the premier regional defence and security exhibition opened for the public for the first of two days.

Accompanying Her Royal Highness were His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Wakeel and Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah, the children of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah was also present with her son, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda Abdul Muntaqim. Their Royal Highnesses first witnessed the military exercises set at the beach-side of the new BRIDEX complex, which showcased the aerobatics of fighter jets and helicopters.

Troops from the land, sea and air also exhibited their skills during the demonstration. Armoured land vehicles also traversed across the sandy terrain to the delight of the large turnout watching from the complex.

Their Royal Highnesses also took a tour around the exhibitions themselves with Deputy Minister of Defence Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Paduka Hj Mohammad Yasmin Hj Umar present to host the Royal Family.

Today marks the final day of BRIDEX 2009, which was officiated by His Majesty and King Abdullah II of Jordan on August 12. About 250 companies from more than 26 countries participated in the exhibition, which was organised by Royal Brunei Technical Services and fully supported by the Ministry of Defence. (ODM1)
