Dear Editor,
I REFER to a letter "Curbing absenteeism in public sector," published yesterday in The Brunei Times. I request if a "Correction" can be made to the following words;
a) "file" on second column, second line. My original word was "Facebook". This is the word used in the report by the local daily. It gave the sentence a true meaning (busy at 9am on her computer checking her Facebook). She was not busy checking her file. This potrayed that the worker came to office first to look into her personal matters! She may be in the office physically, but absent in mind and soul!
b) "employer" of last column, third para, third line. This is my mistake. The proper word should be "employee".
It is the employee who shows dissent against his seniors, and not the employers.
