THE DSTGroup Brunei Premier League cup match between AM Gunners FC and LLRC FT yesterday saw LLRC come back from a goal down to win 3-2 and reach the quarter-finals.

Held at the Belapan Track and Field in Berakas, early in the first half, AM Gunners had put pressure on their opponents by sending waves of attacks.

LLRC first tried to kick in a goal but the AM Gunners' goalkeeper, Md Bakhtiar Hj Hussin saved their attempt at the 15th minute.

Md Bakhtiar made another save by denying LLRC's Md Noor Zahari effort at point blank.

At the 33rd minute, AM Gunners' Md Faizul Ambotang gave his team the lead when he calmly collected the penalty that was given after a reckless tackle made by an LLRC player in the penalty box.

As the first half near its end, the referee gave another penalty when the LLRC's goalkeeper Md Adid Kadir had pulled AM Gunners' Md Eisa Hj Mohammad in the penalty area. DPM Abdul Mateen stepped up to take his shot but couldn't convert it into a goal.

The second half saw LLRC make their equalising goal at the 52nd minute through Md Azri Jebri who out paced a defender and scored on a fine run.

AM Gunners was caught out on a counter attack at the 60th minute and Md Azri scored his second to make it 2-1.

LLRC then added a third at the 78th minute when Shah Hafiz Kifli collected a through ball and slotted it past an incoming Md Bakhtiar.

Md Nazlee P D Hj Jaafar was brought into the game and it was a good change as he scored at the 87th minute to make it 3-2.

"It was a tough game tonight. My players couldn't hold on to the lead. Eventhough we lost, they gave a good performance throughout the game," said Hj Ahmad HJ Husin, the AM Gunners' manager.

LLRC FT's manager, Hj Affandi Hj Julaihi said both teams were going for the win but his team made a great comeback in the second half adding that his opponent was a tough team to beat.

In the other match, Brunei Shell FT won 3-2 against Kilanas FC at the Kebajikan Field.
