January launch for new Audi A4

WITH a total of some 8.5 million vehicles built since 1972 (including the predecessor series, the Audi 80), the Audi A4 1.8TFSI sedan is the best-selling Audi model line ever.

Thanks to Audi drive select and the engines, which all have direct injection, the Audi A4 enjoys a unique technological position in the midsize sedan segment. As the eighth generation of the midsize sedan, this new model replaces a highly successful generation that rolled off the line for the last time in November 2007; one that sold about 2.2 million units worldwide.

TCY Motors Sdn Bhd, the sole dealer and distributor of the Audi brand in Brunei Darussalam, announced its first batch of A4s had just recently arrived and is currently undergoing the standard various LTD inspections and EPU pricing approval application.

Although the official launch is set for early January 2009, more then half of the units brought in have already been pre-booked since confirmation of delivery. TCY Motors Sdn Bhd will offer the 1.8 turbo FSI variant of the new Audi A4 equipped with Audi Drive Select, Audi's Side Assist driving safety feature as well as the award-winning Bang & Olufsen sound system. FSI direct injection technology which increases the torque and power of spark-ignition engines, makes them as much as 15 per cent more economical and reduces exhaust emissions. In contrast to conventional intake manifold injection on conventional spark-ignition engines, FSI engines inject fuel directly into the combustion chambers. This technology dispenses with the throttle plate, reducing heat loss and thus increases output while reducing fuel consumption.The Brunei Times
