Skoda lets journalists book cars via Twitter

Sunday, January 29, 2012

SKODA joins a growing list of companies using social media to their advantage.

Its British network is using Twitter for journalists to request test car bookings.

Recognising that an increasing number of journalists use Twitter to correspond with press offices, the koda press team is now taking and replying to booking requests via a new @SKODAPressCars Twitter account.

To ensure confidentiality, the account is private and can only be followed by journalists who are approved by the press team.

Although the account will carry general information about new cars joining the fleet, all bookings and correspondence would be carried out via Direct Messages.

The Twitter channel complements the brands traditional booking methods.

koda is a well regarded marque in Britain, and has been been ranked in the top 10 of the JD Power Survey of Customer Satisfaction for the past 19 years.

It completed a record year achieving registrations of over 45,000 up 9.2 per cent when compared to the previous year whilst also attaining a 2.3 per cent market share.

Skoda Auto is an automobile manufacturer based in the Czech Republic. The Czech automaker became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group in 2000.
